What is Duplicate content?
Duplicate content is content that appears on more than one the internet. This one place is interpreted as a place with a unique website address (URL). So if more than the same content appears at an address, you’ve got duplicate content, Although not technically fine, it can still affect replication search engine rankings.
When Google says it has multiple pieces of content that have ”appreciable similar” content in more than one location on the internet, it becomes difficult for search engines to make the decision which version of ”is more compatible with the given search query.
Why it matters to Duplicate Content
For Search Engine
Duplicate content can present three important issues for search engines.
- They do not know what version to add/exclude from their indices.
- They don’t know whether to direct the link metrics (trust, authority, anchor text, link quality, etc.) to a page or keep it separated between multiple versions.
- They do not know what version to enter for the result of the question.
For Site Owners
When duplicate content is available, site owners can suffer rating traffic losses, often resulting in tow major issues.
- Search engines will rarely display multiple versions of the same content to provide the best search experience. That way they are forced to choose which version is the best.
- Link equity can be further diluted as other sites also have to choose between duplicates as well. instead of all inbounds link pointing to one piece of content, they link to multiple pieces and disseminate link equity between transcripts because inbound links are a ranking factor then they may affect the appearance of any content search.
How to Copy Duplicate Content?
In many major cases, website owners do not deliberately duplicate content but that doesn’t mean it’s not out there. In fact, by some estimates, up to 29% of the web is duplicate content.
Let’s take a look at some of the most common ways that duplicate content is created unintentionally.

2.HTTP vs. HTTPS or WWW vs. non-WWW pages
If your site has a separate version at ”www.site.com” and ”site.com” (with and without the ”www” prefix), and the same content lives at both versions, you’ve effectively created duplicates of each of those pages. The same applies to sites that maintain versions at both HTTP:// and https://. If both versions of a page are live and visible to search engines, you may run into a duplicate content issue.
3.Scraped or Copied Content
